The alleged offenders reportedly belong to a group of hooligans that has been banned from attending Kaiserslauten games for years.
Germany has laws in place that restrict neo-Nazi propaganda. Nazi symbols (and some gestures) are banned as well.
"The club has asked police to investigate and possibly file charges and has urged fans to identify the perpetrators," the AP reports says. "The team adds in a statement it "distances itself expressly from any form of racism, discrimination or anti-Semiticism."
A tiny group of Kaiserslauten "fans" have embarrassed themselves and the club they claim to support. The Associated Press reports Itay Shechter, an Israeli striker who plays for the club, was given Nazi salutes by around 10 people during Sunday's practice.

The struggling German club lost 4-0 to Mainz in a Bundesliga (first division) contest the previous day. It is in serious danger of relegation, sitting in next-to-last place in the standings with 11 games remaining this season.
