Is the Big Bang It? If there has been one nagging critique of Hublot, it's that it is something of a one-trick pony. Hublot continues to release Big Bang after Big Bang coach bags outlet, with varying shapes, sizes and colors coach outlet online, and we had to ask the question of Mr. Biver that everyone wants to know...When will we see something from Hublot that's NOT a Big Bang?
Related Posts::Last week we went to an event held by Hublot here in New York. The party was in honor of Hublot's new dedicated women's line and to introduce their new ambassador, Veronica Varekova. Also, it was to celebrate Hublot and Veronica's commitment to the African Wildlife Foundation, a noble cause indeed.
Hublot Cares: On the first floor of Hublot's new factory outside Geneva coach outlet online, there exists a full-fledged kindergarten. This provides Hublot employees with young children a free and convenient child-care facility, and also allows parents to eat lunch with their children and to spend more time with them during their formative years.
While we were there, we were graced with the presence of someone whom we've admired from afar for quite some time, and while that is not untrue to say about Ms. Varekova, we are talking about Jean-Claude Biver coach outlet, CEO of Hublot. Below is a small sampling of what we learned from Mr. Biver both in his public presentation and in a personal chat we had with the watch industry legend. Hublot is controversial among many watch buffs, but what he had to say made a lot of sense cheap coach bags, even his explanation of why we have seen so many Big Bangs and little of anything else from the brand.
Free Education, No Catch: Hublot is also sponsoring their own coach outlet, four-year watchmaking school. Attacking the need for trained watchmakers, Hublot will be taking in 25 participants each year to be trained in the highest order. What makes this so sensational is that there is absolutely no requirement for the attendees to work for Hublot after graduation. In fact, Jean-Claude said they are welcome to go work for Rolex, Omega, or anyone else they so choose, Hublot just wants to give back.
Mr. Biver had this to say, "Asking me that question is like asking a Porsche engineer in 1990 when we will see something besides the 911. It is a benchmark for the brand and right now we are going to continue with it for many years to come. I say 1990 because years later Porsche released the Boxster (a less expensive sportscar), the Cayenne (an SUV), and now even the Panamera (a four-door), but in 1990, Porsche had only the 911. In ten years, I may have something else to say, but the Big Bang is our Porsche 911."
A Home for Entrepreneurs: Inside Hublot's new factory, Jean-Claude has set aside 8,000 sq meters to be rented out to start-up businesses of any kind. The rent for this space? $1 per year.

Focus on America: Jean-Claude Biver began his presentation by stating that "The US is our biggest market, and yet we are nothing here." Hublot is riding high on the best US sales numbers the company has ever seen, and we will soon see the opening of a boutique on Madison Avenue here in New York, right next to Hermes.
The BNB Factor: As many know, BNB (the makers of many high end complications for a variety of clients, including Hublot) has declared bankruptcy. Hublot has not in any way purchased BNB or what remains of it, as previously reported elsewhere. All they have done is simply offer positions to many of their employees to join their manufacture. What this means, as explained to us by Mr. Biver himself, is that at the highest level of the movement triangle (see picture above), the complications that were originally going to be produced by Hublot by 2015, will now be ready by 2011. He even let on there would be a Hublot Minute Repeater coming our way very soon. He also stated that Hublot will continue to use both the ETA 2892 and 7750 movements for a long time to come (whether made by ETA themselves or by Hublot remains to be seen) as they provide an affordable and efficient base for the company.
Supply vs. Demand Mirroring much of what Mr. Biver said in his Economist profile, he told us that he thinks Hublot needs to work on limiting production. Luxury is is about exclusivity, and if you can always get your hands on a Hublot, what is luxurious about that? He states he would like to reduce total production of Hublot timepieces by around 2,000 units for 2010.
